Ok guys, I can see from searching online that this is a well-known problem with lots of different suggested solutions but I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experience with a TRUE fix to the issue. We have an old D17 and for the time being, it is our only loader tractor. We will get a skidsteer someday when we can afford it. Anyway, this thing breaks front rims constantly. It will literally peel the rim away from itself around the hub. Its even worse in the snow when its carrying a load. Anybody worked through this one before?

Sounds like your lug holes are wollered out. I would try and find some heavy built rims that will fit it. Or if you have room maybe beef up the back side of the rims. When I was a kid we had three D-17's at the same time. But never had a loader on one. Good luck.
