About half of our steers will go to sale barn, the other half will be sold "fed out". Is there a preffered method. We have heard plus and minus to each. Vet says cut.

Which is better, Ford or Dodge? There are people that prefer both methods. Knife cutting is a more sure thing for those that can't count to two. If you can count that high, banding works just as well.

I prefer banding. I've seen alot of accidents when the calf acts rowdy, where the person has gotten injured seriously.

You hold them down, and you castarate them at a reasonable age. Don't let city idiots come to brandings. I cut 200 head a year I have never lost a calf and I still have all 9 of my fingers.

Just started banding 2 years ago
Dad said knife is the only way to make sure.
Now I've started banding I think it's best
less stress, less blood, less flies, ect. ect.
