current rates to haul critters

Just curious what the current going rate would be for a (est) 30hr (round trip) haul (unloaded on the way up, and loaded on the way back). Trip starts and stops in the middle third of the USA (no crazy mountains).

Last I checked I think it was $3.75 a mile for a truck. They only charge by loaded mile. With fuel going up they might be in the $4.25 range now.

$3/loaded mile for sure around here with gooseneck. Could probably get that distance hauled for $2.50/mile.

So from what I have read, the cost would be in the range of 1800 to 3500. Is it worth that kind of money for the small amount? Just curious.

In all seriousness, it's my impression they are donor candidates ... so, yes.

I always just charge 2.50 if I'm going to make it home for supper.
15 hours and having to stay overnight, 3.50-4.00 would be fair.

there are professional truckers they may have a load going or coming that they can combine. Our PB sale have cattle trucked all over USA . Not sure on charges
