Many cows with get the wide mouth with chops look as their teeth wear down. When you have solid mouthed cows with that look run through the sale ring - - what would you guessestimate as their age and their remaining productive life?

A lot of that look has to do with forage and age. An 8 year cow on bad grass can look worse than a 12 year old on good grass. That said a cow with good solid short teeth put on good grass could do well for 3-5 years.

I have excellent grass this year and the older girls with chops are raising some dandy calves. Even so, I am looking for reasons to cull with the current prices. It sounds like having chops are not at the top of the list.
