Something weird is going on. My cows are normally spread out in the pasture when they graze, but they are moving in a tight pack. Been doing it a couple of days Cavs are in the middle. Has anyone else had this happen?

What is everyone using to combat flies? We plan on buying a Prarrie Phoenix oiler when we go to Oklahoma City in May but not really sure the cattle will rub on the thing. We looked into using JustaFly in the mineral but allot of the time we have trouble getting the cattle to eat enough mineral. A few days ago I watched a video on a man spraying cows with a My-D Han-D fogger that seemed to work well. Not sure I'd wanna be breathing that fog in though and you know the cows will high tail it once the fog hits them.

This applicator gun is one of the best I have found. With it mounted on the 1g jugs I can cube or cs the cattle and just drive down the line on the sxs and spray them. It has two tips. The tight pattern shoots a good ways, probably a solid 10'. Fly bags for day to day and the hit them with the Brute if it gets bad.

Flies, bull, and I'll add in shade. I see them group up like that nearly every day if there's limited shade available. They seem to leave the shade as a group, then slowly disperse and spread out.

I have found that if I put a backrub in with my heifers next to their mineral while they are still in a small group they become pretty good at using it then when they join the cow herd they will seek it out without being put off by the older cows.

I just dump some cubes and walk among them with Fly Ban and an applicator gun similar to what Brute posted. Generally lasts 2 weeks.
