I had a cow die on me the other day, on top of our manure mound. She wasnt calving, there was no struggle or signs of being in pain. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what could have happened. Thanks
Could be anaplasmosis, but it may already be too late to test the dead one. There are als many other things that may have killer her.
How old was she? Has she in last while becme unthrifty, dull coat, etc? Did you see any unusual lumps in neck, point of shoulder, flank? has her eating habits been normal, was her stool normal formed feces or loose. If possible remove body from exposure to other animals, bury or burn, I prefer burning.
