So i have a 2.5 year old cow with calf at side and shes currently bred. I have noticed both her eyes have a little discharge and could be a little red. Its very hard to tell since she has brown pigmented eyes.
I have been putting spectramast (Ceftiofur Hydrochloride) the last 3 days. her eyes are worse. Shes not holding her eyes any differently either. Im just nervous because i had a calf with a slightly droopy ear and we gave resflor gold. He seems better.. but mycoplasma bovis scares me so so much. Any advice would help since my vets havent answered me in days.

She doesn't appear to be squinting or in pain or discomfort from what I can tell or from what you've said, so I wouldn't be overly concerned at the moment. I have some that tear more than others this time of year from flies, dust, and other things. I would just keep monitoring her.

Looks worse due to her color . Your eyes water from dust , pollen/ allergies. So do cows . Don't think it's pinkeye but a shot of an antibiotic would correct it . Some don't recommend antibiotics. Just wait to see if it gets worse before you do .

Within the range of normal for me. Sometimes it makes things worse when you medicate without knowing if you really need to. Panic and patience ride a fine line in the cattle business, and if something isn't immediately life threatening it's a good time to learn when to panic.

And when not too. This is a great example of when not to panic.

The pollen has been very bad in this region. I think she is doing better now. Just thought with her ocular discharge it couldve been some kind of infection is all weird things have been happening this year. Thank you for your opinions!
