I have an older cow I just bought, set to calve in March, and lately she seems to be licking her belly alot, doesn't show any signs of anything at all except good health. Just wondering if there might be anything to keep an eye out for.

We just refer to it as "Having her licker stuck in gear". Happens all the time

As my grandpa used to say, "shes licking herself, so she is doing good!"

Thanks for the advice guys. I didn't think it was much anything, but my wife was concerned.

Not to freak you out or anything, but I have seen them do this prior to calving (but not 2 months before calving). Are you sure on the due date?

Seen many a cow kicking her belly before calving.
Licking, I don't really notice. Though many years ago I watched a pre-calving holstein cow lying down with her head turned back licking up the colostrum as it dripped out of her teats.
