cow/calf vs stockers

Which one ,traditionally, is more profitable?

We try to do both-- cow/ calf and stockers. The cow/calf is the only one that has consistantly paid for itself.

You will have to find your own place. If everone did one thing the other would be more profitable. I do both. I let the market dictate which one I'm in heavier in at any one time. What works in one local will not be the best everywhere, their are to many varibles.

Cow/ Calf.... it's always worked for us. I guess it's what you're into.I know quite a few stockers, I sure don't here them complaining today.

I think if you have a lot of money to invest initially, and plenty of land, then stockers will probably be your best turn around on your dollar. If you need to start slow, and build then cow/calf may be you best bet.
