Cow and calf feeding rations

I am a first time cattle farmer and I have one cow that has a one month old calf. I feed the cow a 14% calf grower, with some rolled corn threw in cause its cold. She has a good bag and the calf is doing godd and starting to eat as well. I was wondering if that is a good feed to feed the cow, or if she needs somthing more. Let me know.<br>Thanks<br>Jennifer

I am also a first time cattle rancher. I have now been in the business for three years. I usually just make sure that they have plenty of grass/hay and supplement them with protein. This is usually in the form of cattle cubes. I feed about 200 ponds a week and I run about 40 cows. When spring comes, I back off the cubes and feed them only a handful at a time. How many cows do you have? What type? and where are you located? I am in South Texas and I have about 30 cows and 10 calves right now. <br>
