Cow acting strange

i have a 5yr old cow (angus), she eats, walks, and drinks fine. She looks fine. But she doesnt stay close to my herd. She should be bred somewhere between 6-8 mos. Any ideas? No temp. Outcast? or problem coming soon?

Maybe she just has an antisocial personality.How long have they all been together? I have one cow that sometimes will do that,hang back to see what is going to happen rather than stay with the other girls. :cboy:

My first guess would be hardware or foot sore for some reason.

I "had" one like that too. Everything looked fine, but she was definately an outcast from the herd. I don't know why it was that way, but it was and I accepted it. Perhaps the herd knew something that I did not.

She looked good with a set of wheels under her........

If this is new behavor, it might be a sign of pending sickness, or calving if it might be possible that she is further along then you might think? :cboy:

well, she had calf in May. You do the math. They have all been together since 2003.

She is fine now. I administered full dose of Duramycin. Strange thing is, that I just did that for no apparent reason. Oh well, she okay now.

Not being a SA, but was wondering what made you think footrot, or hardware, when cow was eating and walking just fine? Just wondering, as always looking for other points to ponder.

I never knew what was worng, but 50cc of duramycin and shes fine.
