Coughing

Does he only cough when you ride or is it constant?? We have a horse that worked in a feedlot and when ever he is fed hay no matter how fresh he gets a cough something about an allergy type thing due to eating older moldy hay for years of his life....

He only coughs when I ride him. I thought it may have been dust from him kicking it up when we ride, but he doesn't cough when I lunge him (or try to him). He is not real good at it yet, but he still kicks up dust and it doesn't seem to bother him.

Hmmm... I guess I'm out of good ideas, I'm really no horse health expert. Better at cattle and sheep(if there is such thing as a healthy sheep). Sorry I couldn't help further Jake
