How Does A Feedyard Charge You Also Do You Need A Lot 30-40 Head or Can Send 4-5-10

We feed by the head, and take in med or small numbers. Depends on the location and the availabilty of feeds as well as the land values. 2006 we were able to bring in weaners at $0.65/hd/day. I don't think I will be able to do that consistantlybut I try to make as good of deal for everyone that I can. We don't generally feed calves, most that come in are to be fed till breeding then AI'd and turned out withthe owners in the spring.

Is that what you charge or what your feed costs alone are?

That is what I charge, don't expect it to be this sheap everywhere. We put up a ton of barley hay and use it in our chopped ration whitch allows me to be this low.

Got me beat by a country mile . Thats inline with just my feed costs.
