I'm new to the business ad wonder if the corriente cows are a good cow to start with

Only if you plan marketing roping steers.

How good are the sale prices on Corriente (sold as roping stock) compared with other beef breeds (sold for beef)? Also does anyone know how marketable they are in the western U.S.? Much demand?

Alan

At the sale today there was one pen of 6 Corriente steers, about 8-10 inches of horn on either side, 700 lbs $80 cwt. That's a little less then Holstein steers and about $25 cwt less then beef steers.

There was an ad in the paper some weeks ago, someone selling corrientes (sp) ready to calve with their 4th for $500 a head. Ad in a different paper someone leasing corriente roping calves $300 a week or maybe it was weekend? Interesting!
