I haven't paid a lot of attention to the time after heat my cows will show blood. Don't always see it either. I have a cow who had a show of blood four days after standing heat and i usually notice it one or two days. My question is, does this mean she would be late with ovulation and i would be better off doing a.i. as late as possible.

I looked up my old text book which is very good on statistics and they state the bleeding 15-36 hours after ovulation so that 4 days is a bit out of that range and suggests you may have a problem there Red.

2-3 days is what I notice here, and I watch them like a hawk. I always figured that a show of blood was a pretty good indicator that they did not catch. But it seems to me that I have plenty that do end up bred that show blood.
