Corn Crop failure

If the corn crop fails around here there are going to be a lot of bankrupt farmers. There is more and more good pasture and hay land being plowed up to plant corn.
How do you figure they will be bankrupt? What would cause that?
Using land that's barely suitable for grass, cost of fertilizer, seed and fuel, trying to find someone that will harvest it. That all takes bucks and if the crop fails that's all money down the drain. If they borrowed the money to do it they will be peckered


Oh I don't know....appears farming insurance is working well around here...

Lots of talk about plowing up hay ground, but folks are still waiting for flat fall plowed crop ground to dry out. I think there will be a bunch of prevented planting again this year, and there will be plenty of hay this year in the upper mid west. Who knows about next year...

The most interesting idea I heard recently was to move back the date of the Iowa primary so we could eliminate the ethonal subsidy. :cowboy:
