Maybe it's just the area I live in but it seems people can't get any fatter. Just go to Walmart in this area and you'll see.
I really first noticed it at a all you can eat pizza place one night. I looked in the line and every one was huge, plates piled high and just going back again and again.
Looked around and the while place was like that and not a single one was even similing, every single one looked unhappy and miserable.

Most all those fatter than us are south pacific islands. Must be genetic. Kuwatis hardly qualify as "poor".

The over weight/obese is calculated on weight in relationship to height. Speaking in generalities those south sea island people are built very wide and thick but not all that tall. So a lot of them who aren't at all fat would be considered over weight. Heck, when I was still falling timber I was 6' 1" and 205. There wasn't any extra weight on me at all but according to the charts I was over weight.

No joke the chart says I should weigh 175 that was my HS football playing weight.
Those days are long gone and their charts need updating at 195 today I wouldn't be
near as pretty at 175. Old people need a little fat to fill in the wrinkles.

All joking aside I do not remember a fat kid in school when I was in school.
We didn't have fast food other than a left over biscuit on the back of the stove.

A lot of pacific islanders are 'round' by nature.. as are a lot of coastal indians here, and it's different than some other people being that fat.

Canada didn't even place, and I'm surprised Italy didn't...

When I was in Georgia I'll never forget booking a room at the Comfort Inn in Robbins.. a trucker walked in and I swear he couldn't see over the counter or fit through the door

I'm 6' and 145 lbs soaking wet.. often at 135

The one or two kids who were a bit chunky and thus considered fat back when I was in school would the slimmest kid in class now. I can't remember "going out" to eat more than once in any one year. And that once was when Grandma and Grandpa took us out. And that certainly didn't happen every year. I was trying to think of what Mom bought at the store in the way of food. Bread (Mom didn't make bread), rice, noodles, beans, and that is about it. Everything else we raised or caught.

Back in the day we had PE in school everyday, and played whatever ball was in season during the lunch break. Some of us even walked to school, and it was uphill both ways. Excerise is a thing of the past for most of these kids, and that's a real shame. I wonder how fat all these young fat kids are going to be when they get old? It could get real ugly.

I sit in the truck at our local Wally World when the wife is shopping mainly for the circus show.
The really sad part is these young people today wear stuff of the "stars" and most look
like two shoats in a tow sack. It is ugly today I bet not one in twenty here going into the store
would not be considered obese young and old alike.

I didn't really start putting on weight till I was 45. And I'm over weight now, but at almost 60 I can run and work most of these kids in the ground.
