Anyone ever seen contracted tendons in the rear legs on newborn calves? Have seen it on the front legs, but it has been several years. Had one born last night that has contracted tendons in the rear and front, but worse in the rear.

Yup, give it a shot of Bo-Se and leave it alone, the latter being more important in my book.

Not near as bad this morning, and up running around. I reckon he'll be just fine.

Most calves will stretch them out on their own after a day or so. There are those that don't. I have taken a piece of PVC pipe and cut a 45 degree notch in it . Cut the pipe half in 2 down the length. Put the pipe on the leg with the notch at the joint. It acts like a spring constantly pulling on the tenons and stretching them until they are back to normal. I use ace bandage to tie it on.
