when is a young bull ready to take over the herd, I have a bull calve that I would like to make my herdbull, when will he be ready? also, have 2 heifers that I would also like to put back into the herd, about the same age as the bull calf, I dont know that their related, but a good chance, if I do this whats the worst case scenario?

great thanks, if their related at all they have the same father but different mother, so I should wait till fall '10 to put him in as herd bull, if I wean them together this summer, is there any thing he could do as far as breed the heifers too young, and should I keep him from the herd this fall with a grown bull in the pasture

are you sayin' that a regestered bull would be better, im also considering keeping a commercial born bull calf for herd bull?
