would it be beneficial to give a colostrum supplement to all bottle calves when I get them in from WI? Is the cost worth it?

Colostrum is absorbed by the calf within the first twenty four hours of life after that it does no good. IMO a medicated milk replacer would be just fine. Will these calves been given natural colostrum? DMC

Antibody wise it wouldn;t do any good unless they are only hours old. On occasion for bottle calves we feed it a few times after they can really absorb the antibodys. I feel that it's nutritive value is probably higher then straight milk or replacer. I'm probably wrong.
