Ok, I'm from south Louisiana. I obviously know nothing of cold weather compared to some. I've traveled north for business. Enough to know I'd rather live in Louisiana. Driving in Buffalo in February was quite interesting. Driving up pike's peak in January was cool too - glad I had a 4 x 4. But this hiccup of cold weather has messed up the fishing here. Crappie (sac a lait to Cajuns) should be spawning by late Feb/early March here. I went yesterday and only caught gar. Depressing. They're predicting 70's and some 80's through the third week of March; which means winter is effectively over. Not soon enough. I already have a spec/redfish trip booked for the third week of March.

I'm ready to sweat!

Lot of fishing in the south, mostly saltwater but freshwater intrigues me. Grew up in south Chicago close to the lil calumet river and used to shoot brown and rainbow trout while waiting for the salmon to swim up river. When I was in florida we fished with parts, clam, shrimp, fish etc.
