stayed around -16C 2F here most of the day, got about 6" of snow last night, so spent the day clearing snow.. My poor quad was pretty overworked.. managed to overheat it when it's 0F out.. that's something!

We are down between Cheyenne and Torrington. I grew up in Lander and ran all over Fremont County. Family ranch is still going strong there. I'm doing my own thing down here.

I went to HS in Lander my freshman year. I loved it there.

Cool. When I was really little we lived on the Pole Creek Ranch there north of Cheyenne. Dad was cow foreman for Warren Livestock in the 60's, I don't remember much of it. We moved there after Etchepare sold off the south side of the ranch. Warren Livestock was a big outfit, I believe they ran 8000 cattle and 30000 sheep.

Warren Livestock is still pretty big. They cover something like 50,000 acres at the Pole Creek unit and hopscotch to the west over the Laramie Mountains and into the Laramie Valley.

-35f this morning at 6 am, -22f now at 10 am, warming all the way up to -3f this afternoon. cattle are frosty, but doing fine. free choice hay, 5lbs grain per head at dusk and 30% free choice protean tubs.

It snowed here for days, then the last 2 days warmed up to 32f and and has rained. Now we have water everywhere. Hoping for dryer weather next week. Of course the cows stated calving, so now the fun really begins.

Snow finially let UP today after 3 or 4 days of steady white out conditions. Temp was -17F this am and about 26" of new snow over the last 3 days. Very wintery.

That's a lot of snow for sure in 3-4 days. I would love a foot of snow for the cows, but we at least got about 4" last 16 hours. Ground was soooo lumpy bumpy from being so muddy, cattle didn't want to more (couldn't move). Saw a 1" chunk torn out of 1 hoof.
Rain after a good snow covering is extremely depressing!

Fairly normal snowfall for UP here. All the snowmobilers and skiers are happy now. We need the moisture that the snow brings but the 6 hours it takes to dig and plow out both farms and my rental house gets old when it snows for days on end.
