We noticed feces from a 2 day old calf looked bloody. My first thought was coccidia but didn't know if that was possible in a young calf. We pulled the calf though it wasn't the hardest pull or the longest labor. Calf appears healthy otherwise.

Thanks,

Take a sample to the vet. They can tell you if it is worms. Prob scours though.

Newborn calves will sometimes have blood and/or membranes in their feces. Usually it is not a big deal. If the feces are 'normal' otherwise, not really runny, I would just watch the calf to make sure it is healthy otherwise. Usually this will change within a couple days.

Calf continues to appear fine. Will talk to the vet about it the next time we are there.

Thanks for the feedback.
