clear ponds

Help Support CattleToday:

It depends on what the problem is. If it's algae other then using an algae killer there isn;t much that can be done. If it is too clear that also contributes to algae bloom. To check and see what type of clearing situation you have. Take a clear quart jar, dip it full of the pond water and set it aside where it won;t get disturbed and stirred up. Leave it for a couple of days to a week. That will tell youif it is a sediment problem and give you some ideas on what needs to be done to resolve the problem. The run off from the barn will create a nutrient rich source for algae and that becomes a long term problem.
