cleaning a gas tank.

To clean up a rusty or dirty gas tank on a briggs &stratton small engine..Take the tank off , dump the fuel out . fill it 1/3 full with small bolts & nuts or even large chunks of gravel .Then add Wd-40 till its about 1/2 or more full. Shake it for about 15 to 30 minutes. Dump it out, rinse it out with water them rerinse it with gas. Let it dry and it should be good.

But that's not as much fun as shaking up the nuts, bolts and gravel and waiting for a spark. Sort of like Russian roulette, but different. ;-)

Similar to the way restaurants clean the glass coffee pots, ice and powdered cleaner. It works well.

We use Kerosene rather than WD-40.
