May I ask you what do you think is wrong for a town to get along with its inhabitants and make them good American Citizens. You may live if you are young enough to be the minority in the USA. Some of the white people having a house full of kids are the Duggers in Arkansas. About two years ago when I had a stay in the hospital I met a young nurse that was from Tibet very interesting and she and I had several interesting conversations. Her aspiration in life was to become a Medical Doctor. If you stop to talk and listen you can find out the dreams and hope of the millennial generation and young immigrants.

thats all well and good.. but facts and statistics don't lie. Go look at the countries that took in the most refugees and see how they like it. HINT HINT***** THEY ARE COLLECTING THEM AND SENDING THEM OFF......

I'm sure they have dreams, but the problem is they bring the bad in with them. Sorry they can't make their own country great. We don't need ours ruined.. maybe they can.. with help from liberals and socialists.. make their own country prosperous.

Folks leaving their home countries and coming to America is not a new concept, many of our ancestors came as an escape from persecution or famine. One of my great grandfathers was born here just shortly after his parents and older brother arrived from Ireland. My wife's family is Mexican/Native American, her grandmother was the first generation born in the US, they were raised to speak English, and are a very good and hardworking family. In all honesty most of the crimes around here can be attributed to locals. I am not disagreeing that there are crimes associated within immigrant populations, I just don't know what the answer is as we are a nation of immigrants.
i understand immigration, I don't agree with the idea of "rescue everyone"

Those are the type of immigrants that don't tax the system. I'm still not so sure that we actually need them. Our education system is supposedly the best in the world, so why can't we just educate our own citizens become doctors? We have more than enough people in this country already, so why do we need to import more?

We can. Problem is that our kids don't want it as bad as these kids from third world countries. American kids feel a sense of entitlement. They feel that somebody owes them a living. They don't want to have to give up 8+ years of their life for college/med school. They want Mama and daddy to give them their inheritance and pay their bills too. We have spoiled them by giving them so many things that they don't understand what it means to "want" for anything.

Now I know that's painting with a pretty broad brush. Doesn't apply to all American "kids" But it does apply to the majority.

It is not a generalization. It is a fact, as you read on the cattle market thread. The Professors have told me the same thing.

these guys must of misunderstood.. they are very very good people that have just been brought up wrong... we can change them with loves and hugs.. OH WAIT...

Bowling Green, OH – A nationwide manhunt is underway for three illegal immigrants who have been accused of raping two children, police said.

Bowling Green police officers were called to the Wood County Hospital just before 11 p.m. on June 28 for reports that a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted, Deputy Chief Justin White said, according to The Blade.

The victims, who are sisters, told police that they were staying at a Days Inn motel in Bowling Green with their mother when four men held them against their will and sexually assaulted them.

Investigators subsequently learned that all four of the suspects had "fraudulent paperwork" indicating that they were immigrant workers, Deputy White said, according to KPTV.

On June 29, police apprehended 24-year-old Simon Juan Thomas in connection with the attack.

Thomas, who is from Guatemala, has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful sexual contact with a minor and was being held on $50,000 bond.

Nationwide warrants were issued for the remaining suspects, David Ramos Contreras, 27, Juan Garcia Rios Adiel, 19, and Arnulfo Ramos, Chief White said on Tuesday. Ramos' age was not provided.

Nothing to misunderstand, per the information provided in that post those individuals are accused of committing a serious crime.
If our own citizens particularly the younger generations of working age folks would be willing to work at the available jobs then a lot of the jobs would be filled and migrant workers wouldn't be needed on the scale that they are. Years ago a friend that raises quite a bit of tobacco told me that if it weren't for migrant labor their wouldn't be any raised. Used to be easy to find folks to cut and house tobacco, then it changed. Regardless of anyone's view of tobacco no doubt in my mind other businesses are in similar situations.
I am most likely one of the least educated folks on this board and have said many times I don't have the answers. In finding answers we need to be asking some hard questions of why, and how and then address the what can be done.

The cases of such crimes that are perpetrated by citizens just don't get shared on social media and have that level of outrage.. there's plenty of them too.

Hurley you visit an M.D. around this area you'll seldom find one with a more typical american name. 95% of them must be Indian, Japanese, Nigerian, Italian, Russian....doctor that put my stint in back in Feb. was from Pakistan. Probably half of the nurses were the same way. Immigrants but contributing greatly to the future of the United States of America. Got a family from India that lives right here. They have 5 children, all are now doctors or in the process of becoming doctors. And for what it's worth, all three of our priest are from Nigeria, all have PhD's and are awesome folks.

Grit, our "would be" doctors would rather ride around, smoke dope and work for minimum wage. They have zero motivation. Maybe we should ship out our future doctors to India and let them live on the streets of Calcutta for a while.

Good post.

The fact that we have a lazy, unmotivated younger generation who don't want to become doctors, makes the less than 50% acceptance rate into med school perplexing. They must be turning a lot of foreign students away.

I think Chris has a point.
However, a lot ,most, of those applicants that do not get into school are rejected because they are simply not qualified.
On the other hand, a lot who are qualified don't get in either.

It is interesting to note that the proportion of female students in both medical and veterinary schools is much higher than in years gone by.
These professions do not hold the allure for males they once did.

Chris do you think ALL of that 50% that were rejected were really qualified for medical school or just wanted to give it a shot?? The USA is not the only country with medical schools especially highly rated medical schools but of those admitted, graduation rates have been going down the past 20 years. Many foreign doctors get their education in Europe, Asia and even Africa then come here to work.

23 years ago I was working contract at the airport in Waco. Found a cheap motel and stayed there one week. One of the production workers was staying at the Waco Sands Motel and I moved there and stayed four weeks and then the contract job ended. It was being managed by Mr. and Mrs. Patel which I got to know and could talk and discuss things with them. They had two childred a Son aand Daughter that had graduated at the head of thier class in High school and was going to Baylor and had plans to become Doctors. Mr. Patel told me that he and his wife did not own the Motel but managed it for somone from Lubbock Texas. He also said that their goal in life was to see that thier childrend were well educated and could succed in life. I think I was paying something like 27 dollars a week. I was working the second shift and he noticed that I came in about one each night. He asked if he could turn the air off in the room during the day and would turn it back on about eleven each night. The last week I was there he noticed me coming in with my laundry and rushed out to ask what did that cost. I told him and he said that just leave it in the room and his wife would do it for an extra five dollars a week. But the job was over and I came back to my home in East Texas.

right.. everyone of them is the hardest working, bestest, most awesomest person in the world. Just will get down with a toothbrush and scrub a factory floor all night for 8 bucks an hour with a smile.

I don't think many of you live in areas with high populations of newly entered immigrants / refugees. Legal mexicans are one thing, temp workers are one thing... but yea..

Yes the illegal part is the deal breaker for me. My family immigrated here through Ellis Island legally. We are US citizens and Americans, just like the families that legally immigrated here before and after ours.
