This is day 11 on the Dicamba. I think the toughest weed to kill with Detonate (dicamba) has been the Trumpet vine. This one has been really bad. It has been raining here for three days and I want to get back to the field and see where the Indian Hemp dogbane is at this point. The tops looked a bit on the dry side, but they are not getting any taller which may be a sign that it is a slow kill on this vine. It must grow from a base of roots connected, because the vine is not random. But you may have 50 vines in an area, and there are about three clumps of these. But both the Trumpet and Hemp Dogbane are the slowest to die. The Horse nettle is curling up and dying. When I sprayed the nutsedge wtih the Outrider, it was very slow to die, but nothing that there is no longer any growth to the plant nor any new shoots branching off when the plant still has some green to it is a good sign it is definitely in decline as I was getting disappointed when it all did not curl up and die.
