Does anyone have a Claas or have any experience with one?Any info is appreciated.

I have a 1994 Rollant 66. It has been a good reliable baler for me. I've replaced almost everything on it, but I use it heavy. 1000 bales last year. 800 bales a year for most of its life.
My only complaint is that German engineering is not intuitive to an American farmer/mechanic. I think they do some odd things.
I've sure gotten my money out of this Claas, and I will look at another when I trade.

I got a Class Variant 280 2002. It's a hight volume machine and you need at least a 110 hp to run it. you can cross the wind row at an angle of 90 degree with no problem. With silage if you use netwrap if you get lots and lots of hay, you can average 40 bales 4 X 4 , an hour. Before I had a NH 644 and there is no comparason. The nH is a toy beside this machine. I bale 5000 to 6000 silage 4X 4 a year and 2500 bales of straw.

The pieces are expensive and the machine too. Over 40K.

Marcel.
