CIDR implant, 50% show heat

Does anyone have any idea why out of four open cows only two showed heat after Cidr and lutralyse. I have two weaned bull calves that chased two cows but never even looked at the other cows? Any suggestions.

Cidrs & Lut don't always work. They only work if a cow is already cycling OR is CLOSE to cycling. If they are in poor condition, their bodies just won't cycle. Sometimes it is difficult for an owner to objectively analyze their cattle. Have another beef producer look at them and ask what they think their body condition score would be. On a 1-10 chart (1 being "dead" - 10 being obese), they should be at least a 5 - gaining weight.
