choose sq tube vs 18 guage tube gates

I have used the Priefert gate and they hold up well. The other gate also sounds good. If a 2000 lb. bull tries to jump and doesn't quite make it neither is worth diddly.

i would think the Priefert gate would be better - but do you know the weight of the gate? i didn't notice a ga. thickness for either gate. IMO an 12' "bull gate" should weigh in the neighborhood of 150 lbs - and would be fabricated of 14 ga., 2" square or round tube.

the preifert gates are 16 guage 2" and the 1 1/2 inch sq tube is 14 guage

If you are going to face it with cattle panel (welded to it) the shop built wins hands down.
