I read this quite a while back, it was a story written by Trent Loos about how the Federal Fish and Game was trying to remove these cattle from these islands that had been there for over a hundred years. http://www.loostales.com/written.htm Go here and click on The Last Frontier. It's really worth a read. I looked up some pictures off of Google and such and it is really amazing what adaptation and self management has done to these cattle.[/url]
 
I went to google images could not find any Chirikof Cattle. Care to give me a hint.

From the distance that the photos appeared to be taken they better take a 30-06 and a good scope to the round-up
 
Probably just my warped sense of humour, but it seemed funny that after all the claims to be a hardy, disease free herd the picture they used on the opening page of their website to represent their animals is a skull from one of the cattle. Possibly not the strongest way to promote the breed....

I agree with Ollie... they look like a fast bunch of critters. Round up time must be interesting.
