Chipped hoof

Is there anything special I need to do for a chipped hoof? The cow has a chip about the size of a nickle in her front hoof. She is limping slightly but still getting around. Other than the slight limp she seems just fine. Thanks in advance.

Unless she develops an infection, her hoof will grow out and over the defect without intervention.
