I think what you have in mind is sometimes called a chicken tractor. Google that and you should get some options. Also, www.backyardchickens.com has photo's of chicken coops out the wazoo and it should be pretty easy to find inspiration.

Whenever I hear about the moveable pen deal it reminds me of an old friend of mine that could come up with an acronym for anything. He built a moveable pen that could be broken down into components for easy moving. He called it MECCA. Modular Enclosed Chicken Confinement Area

I know you wrote small, but I saw one that held about 100 birds at the butcher's last week, was pretty neat. For sure follow those links others have given you or I think storey's chicken book might have a plan in it too if I remember right.
