Can I continuously graze no till drilled cold grazer rye from late fall thru spring and expect quality forage levels or do I need to remove the cattle. In Northwest Arkansas/Southwest Missouri, drilled in various pasture types from dates of Oct. 8 thru approx Oct. 14. I'm expecting minimal forage amounts this fall, plan to feed hay thru February but am hoping to get rye up in March with cattle in same field with sprouting rye. Is this feasible? I have never dealt with winter annuals before, its been dry.

I AM PLANNING ON THE RYE TO GO DORMANT DURING THE FREEZING TEMPS, THEN START GROWING AGAIN IN LATE FEB. OR EARLY MARCH. AT WHICH TIME I HOPE TO QUIT FEEDING HAY.

It could get real compacted with some wet weather.
