I'd suggest charl. cows with a good angus bull. The smokey calves grow fast and bring good money. I suggested charl. cows because generally you can buy them cheaper than angus. You could do the opposite and go with angus cows and a good charl. bull but I think you will be out more money. Another good cross that would be a little cheaper would be hereford cows crossed with an angus bull. Herefords are gentle cattle as well. Best of luck!
