I want to get 2 to 4 steers or cows. I am going to get herefords or black angus. I have never had cows before. Can anyone give me advice on which one to get. I herd herefords are more docile. I will raise them for a year and have them butchered or maybe try to breed them.

All I can say is to make up your mind and stick with it. Herefords and Angus (both colors) are both docile breeds as long as you get them from good bloodlines and reputable cattlemen that pay attention to those details. If you are just looking for meat I'd get some good steers from the local barn finish them out and butcher them. Good luck
