Beef Quality Assurance (BQA)
Your state Cattlemen's organization or your county extension office can give you more information, but all shots are to be given in the neck and should be given SQ when possible. Medications are to be recorded and withdrawal periods followed. Cattle are to be handled quietly and humanly. Some beef programs require that you be BQA certified to deliver cattle to them.
BQA programs are designed to educate producers on all the things to do or not to do that have an effect on the quality of the meat produced. They also help quiet some of the animal rights people who think all livestock are mistreated. And they allow the beef retailer make claims as to safety and humane handling.
