I've noticed ~2 y/o horses sometimes will have a lump on the underside of the lower jaw when their teeth are coming in; do cows do the same thing? I've got a 2 1/2 y/o cow that appears to have a hard lump there on the right side and I just wanted to rule out anything related to teeth before treating for lumpy jaw.

The gum gets inflammed sometimes to a slight degree, but nothing that would be grossly noticeable. If your talking about a lump, it doesn't necessarily need to be lump jaw either. :cowboy:

I've seen calves that will get a lump when their teeth are coming in, but nothing huge, and it goes away pretty quickly. She could very well be getting teeth in, but you could check for other symptoms to rule out anything else.
