quick question- in reading the cattle auction reports it typicaly tells what kind(ie steer,cow) the weight, and then a number like 65.00-70.00, what exactly does that mean?

sixty-five to seventy cents a pound. If you are as green as I am, I couldn't understand the hundred pound figures... but how much a pound...now THAT I can compute. LOL... and then, of course, when it says: $65.00 to $70.00 it means that the beef was that much for each hundred pounds of weight it carried. Roger explained that part, but I had to get my "cents" in.... sorry...
