I have cattle which seem to have breathing problems. I have had a vet out to see them and she said it was a virus and there is nothing I can do about it but it is not going away. Not able to see my cattle is hard to detect what it is, but is there some kind of virus that cattle get and is there any cure or do they just have to live with it and does it get worse. Any info on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Cattle get viral infections just like people. They have to "run their course". But if the cattle are "off feed", running a fever, or doing poorly, they can get secondary bacterial infections which should be treated. I'm curious. You said "Not able to see my cattle is hard to detect what it is," What does that mean? Do you have facilities to work cattle to check for temperatures & give shots? Did the vet have to give his/her opinion from an exam from a distance?? Jeanne
