Can someone post a good website to help me learn how to follow the cattle prices? ie. why are the prices months in advance, what's the difference between live cattle and feeder cattle?

Thanks, Jason

The difference between live (fed) cattle and feeder cattle is the age and size. The live or fed cattle are finished at about 1200 lbs and the feeder cattle are ready to be fed and they weight about 750 lps. The time pricing for fed cattle is the futures market and that is why they are talking about a few months hence. There is also the current market or today price for all classes of cattle.
