What are the effects of cattle eating plastic bags or flagging ribbon? How much does it take to harm a cow? Does anyone know of any studies done on this subject?<br>

I don't know where to locate any studies on this subject. However, several years ago, we were given a cow for slaughter. She was a bit underweight & I decided to grain her for a time to fatten her up. She didn't gain any weight to speak of, so we went ahead and had the mobile butcher come out. That cow's stomach was 90% full with a huge ball of orange hay string. No wonder she couldn't gain weight!<p>
