castration

I usually band my bull calves shortly after birth while I can still catch them. Two months ago I went to band one and found that his testicles hadn't come down yet. Last week I ran the herd through the chute for fly treatment and was going to band the calf again and found that his testicles still have'nt dropped. What does this mean?

Your vet may be able to cut him and get them down. Or you can wait a while longer and see if they drop but at this point it doesn't sound likely. If the vet can't get both of them down it's better to leave him uncut and ship him.
