Had that happen to me one selling a few cattle. Was surprised because it was less than 10k but over 5k. Didnt normally do cash and I guess going to my nearest branch instead of my normal threw them off bc they asked what I did for living and where did I get the cash? Thought it was intrusive and odd.

I've been told that if they are even unwittingly helping people with illicit activities then they will get in BIG trouble with the feds. This is why that weed sales are cash only, b/c you don't need a bank when you deal in cash.

A friend of mine who has a pretty high net worth never carries anything smaller than $100. He does that for the very reason you said. He says it isn't the hundreds and thousands that you spend which will cost a person. It is the total of the little things which add up and cost a person a lot with nothing to show for it.
