This spread is so named because it is always on the table at the meal served following Amish Church meetings. You'll want to adjust the recipe down for your needs.

Communion is served twice a year in the Mennonite Church. The congregation I grew up in serves what they call a "love feast" on Saturday evening before communion the following morning. The meal consists of a beef stew, bread & butter, apple butter, deserts and this PB spread. The members attending the meal provide the desserts but everything else is provided by the church.

When I was a kid I used to sit with the other boys my age at these meals and it seemed that we spent more time asking the runners to refill our bowl of PB spread than we did eating the stuff. Boy is it good!

Amish Church Peanut Butter Spread
3 pounds crunchy or smooth peanut butter
2 quarts light Karo syrup
2 quarts Marshmallow Creme or Marshmallow Fluff

Mix all ingredients until smooth. Add more Karo syrup if spread is too thick.
