I have a wheat field my cows have brought down to about 4 inches. I planted haygrazer In one of my hay fields and have a lot of seed left over. We are suppose to have some rain tomorrow and Monday and wondered if I can just over seed some sudan. I don't want to disc the wheat and I also don't want to just save the seed. Any suggestions?

I think that seed likes to be covered unlike rye grass seed. I don't think think you will get much broadcasting seed other than bird food.

I've tried this a few times. Not to much luck with it. Can work if the stars line up just right. If you got seed to waste you have nothing to lose. Sling it out and leave the cows in. If it rains they will stomp some seed into the mud. If you get more rain soon you should get something. Make sure you monitor it for purasic acid and nitrates, if you're going to graze it

I decided to disc up a different wheat field my cows where in all winter. Pretty much a clumpy muddy mess. Thanks for the input.
