Left out on a boomerang trip to OK for funeral.
Put out several rolls of hay, cattle are starting to eat grass and back off of hay so we figured they'd be ok we hoped.
Had been watching a heifer and she calved the day before we left so felt like things might be ok maybe.
I had figured there was a chance that Maybell the Jersey nurse cow would possibly calve at some point while we were gone, which kind of worried me, also thought a solid red 2nd calf cow might calve soon too. An older BWF cow was the only one I thought that was imminent to calve probably over the 3 nights we were away.
Definitely not something we do often if at all is leave out when there's a possibility of calving, and probably wouldn't have had the heifer not calved before we left.
Got back and checked the cows to find the BWF cow had calved, as well as two other 2nd calf cows that I had though were probably a couple weeks away.
Maybell and the red cow are both still holding out.
