I recently just weaned two calves off of their mothers, and i put water out for them, but i cannot tell if they are drinking any. There is snow on the ground, but i know that, that alone is not enough.
I am currently feeding them a little grain, in a little bunk.

so here is the question, Can I put water in with their feed?

I know you can mix feed and water for pigs, but is it ok to mix the water with the feed for cattle too.

No you can;t. Set up a barrel or tub and fill it with water and have that as their only source. That said, any calf that has reached weaning age is drinking water.

put salt in there feed and make sure they know where the water is. the salt will put them to water. like dun said have only source so you tell if they are drinking.

dun is right. Don't change his feed or you will have trouble.

Merry Christmas

Larry
