It's been asked in the past when a calf should be cheweing it's cud. Ihave noticed that the calves with their mothers generally are cheweing it at a young age. Of the 3 calves born (until this morning) all three are cheweing their cuds, the youngest was born 3/7. They may not really be getting out of it, or know what they're doing, but they are ruminating just like the adults.
