After reading thousands of posts on Cattletoday, it appears most of the cattle owned by members of this site are pets.

I disagree. I think most owners protect the bottom line, but have some degree of compassion for the animals they raise. If you lack compassion, you need to get out of the business.

I don't like the power the humane society has. However, stupid, mean, people created a need for it. A little consideration for the animal goes alongs way.

I believe that if an animal can be fixed within financial reason, you should do or if you can't afford it give it away. If there are not other options, put an end to its suffering.
